1901 Vintage Knabe – FOR SALE
We recently purchased this 1901 Vintage Knabe model B (6’3″) from David Hughes in Baltimore Maryland, where the headquarters of Wm. Knabe & Co. was originally located. Knabe (said ka-NA-bee) was originally one of the most celebrated piano brands in the world. Peter Tchaikovsky, Arthur Rubinstein, Camille Saint-Saëns were all fans of Knabe pianos. Knabe was so successful that it became the “Official Piano of the Metropolitan Opera” in the 1920s.
This piano is being fully rebuilt with a NEW SOUNDBOARD, BRIDGE CAPS, new fully fit PINBLOCK, brand new custom KEYSET from Reyburn Pianoworks, all new ACTION parts, dampers, STRINGS, tuning pins, as well as full REFINISHING of the case and plate.
