This piano was once used in a saloon in the Midwest. It is now in Utah and once again restored to playing condition! Before: After:

Curtis Harper, retired Firefighter, master craftsman woodworker (he built his shop as well) I wish I had a picture of the “before”. The fallboard hinge on this side had totally been broken out. Now it looks literally better than new!
Now that’s some dust! (It’s actually pretty typical of a 1940s or 1950s spinet that hasn’t been serviced for 30 years): gathering up the dust to throw away: vacuumed up the rest:
I’m proud of how this refurbishment turned out! I rebuilt the sustain pedal pivot with new pivot pin and bushings: Filed the hammers (before): (after): and regulated the action. The piano feels and sounds really nice now – mission accomplished!

It’s amazing what can accumulate under the keys over a period of 40+ years! And now after. Ahhhh….: Sure makes a difference!
